Publisher's Descriptions
Like many retirement calculators, Practice Navigator uses a Monte Carlo algorithm to simulate real-life stock market variability. But unlike other retirement calculators, it also gives you the possibility to make yearly investment decisions to better simulate the real-life experience of having to maintain steady and dependable investment income while investing in financial markets t Test your skills and see if you can maintain your desired income for up to 30 years. We encourage you to email this file to others who may be interested.
Your Excel program must have macros enabled to use the Practice Navigator. A macro is a program (software code) written to perform a sequence of operations. The Practice Navigator uses several macros to generate the simulated market scenarios.
If your Excel program does not have macros enabled and it does not give you the option to enable macros when the Practice Navigator is launched, you will need to modify the security setting. To do this, click "Tools" on the Excel menu bar, then select "Macro", then "Security", and then choose either the Medium or Low setting.
This file includes both a standard and advanced version. With the advanced version you will be able to compare your results to the results that would have occurred with a Systematic Withdrawals approach.
Each investment scenario is different, and some are more difficult than others...just like real-life!
NOTE: The Practice Navigator™ investment income calculator may not be compatible with versions or Excel prior to Excel 2000, and it is not compatible with Macintosh computers.
